Clifford Stoll vs the KGB hacker – A nova documentary about one of the first people to uncover a hacker

This is a video about Cliff Stoll. He was one of the first people to uncover a hacker back in 1986. He was an astronomy professor at Berkeley who was temporarily in charge of the computers. . He found a 75 cent accounting error which eventually led to his uncovering a KGB hacker network. The techniques the hacker used in 1986 are still being used effectively today.

Diagnosing a burning smell from a Vehicle with a laser thermometer

My mom smelled something that smelled like wiring burning while driving her truck. She took it to the service center but they didn’t find anything. When she pulled up for Easter dinner, I could smell it. The engine compartment seemed OK. I got out the laser thermometer and took readings on the calipers. That identified the problem.

True Story – American troops, Wehrmacht, SS and French Prisoners defending a medieval castle against SS Troops.

The Battle for Castle Itter, a really strange battle, occurred at the end of World War Two.  Wehrmacht soldiers fought alongside U.S. troops against the Waffen SS.  They were protecting high ranking French prisoners who had been held at the castle.
